Time Zone Name

The name of time zone as defined in the Federal Code of Regulations.

Terminated Date

The date on which the monitoring site was terminated.

Zip Code

Postal zip code.

Congr Distr Num

A number assigned to distinguish congressional districts within a state; therefore, they are unique within a state. Congressional districts in states that only have a single district are not assigned numbers, but are assigned the number 1 in the database for consistency.

Block Num

A numeric identifier assigned by the US Census Bureau to identify a Block. The identifier is unique within a census tract or blocking number area.

Block Group

A numeric identifier assigned by the US Census Bureau to identify a Block Group. The identifier is unique within a census tract or blocking number area.

Census Tract

A numeric identifier assigned by the US Census Bureau to identify a Census Tract or Blocking Number Area. The identifier is unique within a county.

Class 1 Area

The Class 1 area code for a site transaction. A "Class 1" area is a geographic area recognized by the EPA as being of the highest environmental quality and requiring maximum protection.

Local Region

A code identifying a state-based geographical air quality area. Includes California air basins.

Local Site Name

The name of the site, if it has one.

HQ Eval Date

The date of the most recent headquarters evaluation of the site.

Reg Eval Date

The date of the last evaluation by the appropriate EPA regional office.

Compass Sector

A code that indicates the general direction from one location to another.

City Dist

The distance in kilometers of the site from the center of the downtown central business district of the city in which the site is located.

Local Site Id

The primary identifier for the site used by the local or state air quality system.

Met Site Type

A description for a meteorological station identified with a monitor.

Met Site Dist

The distance of the associated meteorological site from the air quality monitoring site, in meters. This information is required if the site has monitors that are part of a PAMS network. Also, the associated site need not be an AIRS site.

Direct Met Site

A code that indicates the general direction from one location to another.

Met Site Id: State Code

A FIPS code that identifies one of the 50 states or other countries.

County Code

A FIPS code that identifies a county or the equivalent geo-political entity, such as a parish or independent city.

Site Id

Number used to uniquely identify a site within a county. Defined and maintained by the states.
