Monitor Close Date

Description

The date on which the operating agency indicated that all activity associated with tihs monitor has ended. If this field is populated, all monitor subordinate records are automatically populated with the same close date. Removing this date will NOT automatically remove the close date from monitor subordinate records - that must be done manually.

As distinct from “closed”, AQS usually determines if a mointor is “operating” by looking at the date the last sampling period ended. If a monitor is closed, AQS will automatically populate and end date for the last sampling period. (If there is no value in this field, then the monitor is open.)

Business Rules

Must be in the AQS Date Format: YYYYMMDD.

Must be later than any monitor subordinate (e.g., sample period) begin dates.

Must be earlier than the Site Termination Date.

May only be set for a valid monitor (e.g., monitor must already exist in AQS and have no other format or relational errors).
