MA - Monitor Basic

This transactions contains the primary (basic) information for defining a monitor. Recall, in AQS a monitor is not necessarily a sampler or physical device, but a logical construct indicating a single parameter measured at a site. That is, if you have a sampler that collects a sample that is analysed for 5 pollutants, this will be defined as 5 monitors in AQS.

This transaction contains a definition of the parameter that will be reported, physical information for the probe, and additional geographic information (beyond what was entered for in the corresponding site transaction).

Examples:

MA transaction in default mode
MA|I|06|001|0007|88101|3||AREA|NEIGHBORHOOD||TOP OF BUILDING|5.1|0|2||||||||||||||
MA transaction in Tribal mode
MA|I|TT|614|7004|81102|1|10|AREA|NEIGHBORHOOD||TOP OF BUILDING|8|0|1||N||1|||||0499|||||20141231
